Child & Newborn Photography

My child and newborn photography sessions are all about your little ones. Children teach us how to be spontaneous and attuned to the present moment. Listening to your children's interests and needs, and allowing them to show who they are in the moment is what makes these sessions successful.  During the photo process, I help create fun activities for your kids that will lead to precious photo moments.

Newborn photography is very special! The best time for posed, studio-style newborn photography is within 10 days of their birth. This is when they are very sleepy and will allow for certain baby poses such as baskets or hands rests. Wraps and props are used to create the adorable, styled portraits that you will love. When trusted to hold your newborn, safety, comfort and low stress is most important.

Lifestyle newborn portraits involve holding your baby without the extensive styling and posing. These portraits can happen at any stage after the birth. Things to consider during the early months is how is baby settling (fussy, gassy or colic?) and does skin have facial acne or red splotches? I'm happy to photograph your babe after the first 10 days. Any time is good! I think the next 'best' time for photos after the newborn phase is 3 months. 

Cake smash sessions are usually for babies first or second birthdays. These sessions have a staged set-up with decorations, props and a cake that your baby can eat.
