Sedona has many beautiful places to photograph. Each location has different types of scenery and environments, as well as different levels of comfort especially for children or elders. To best assist clients in selecting where they want photos, here are some visual samples with notes about each Sedona photo shoot location.
BELL ROCK & COURTHOUSE BUTTE
This location has a lot of possibilities in all directions. Some of the larger rocks are Bell Rock, Courthouse Butte and Baby Bell Rock. These beautiful rocks catch the setting sun upon them so sunset and after is best for this location. There are also trees and other foliage along the valley floor. The paths are family friendly with easy to pose on rocks. Good for kids and dogs. For a little elevation, the top of Baby Bell has stunning views.
CRESCENT MOON CREEK
Crescent moon is gorgeous both during the late summer and through the Fall. During November and December the leaves change to yellow and orange along the creek, making this an ideal spot for Fall Family sessions. The backdrop captures the iconic Cathedral Rocks in the background. Kids love playing in the creek and the trees allow for much needed shade. This location is great for babies and young children as it is an easy, non elevated walk.
SUGAR LOAF TRAIL
Sugar Loaf trail has a mix of trees and red rock as you hike towards the back side of Sugar Loaf Rock. There is an area along the side with a short hike up to a beautiful view point for sunsets. After the sun sets, Thunder Mountain becomes a beautiful backdrop. This location is good for kids 5 yrs and up.
YAVAPAI POINT
This location has stunning views of Bell Rock, Courthouse Butte and the mountain range that all lights up at sunset. Here you can see how the orange hills make for a lovely background to these sweet portraits. This is a short hike uphill and has a large flat rock area for posing. There are steep drop offs so I recommend it for families with children 5 years and up, or with kids that will be monitored.
TLAQUEPAQUE & LOS ABRIGADOS CREEK AREA
The Tlaquepaque area has beautiful Mexican architecture and during the Fall, a line of low trees that turn yellow. The Los Abrigados hotel has a beautiful creek side area of Sycamore trees with a sandy beach and grass. Great for kids and dogs.
